Lesson 4: Traditional Publishing Vs. Digital Publishing Evaluation


You will need to evaluate the potential advantages of using digital publishing compared with traditional publishing methods.  You must ensure that you make detailed references to examples from your research findings and traditional/digital publishing handout.  Your responses can take the form of an illustrated report (400-500 words), video diary or audio-visual presentation (5-minutes) and must cover the following:


Introduction:
  •        Examples of digitally published products
  •        How digital products are used by audiences
  •        Where they can be accessed


Case Study 1:

  •     What are the reasons for this?  (Consider audience, access, information, size, price, layout etc.)
  •     Explain the advantages and disadvantages of digitally published versions (Consider, ease of use, updating information, portability and effectiveness)
  •     Explain the advantages and disadvantages of traditionally published versions (Consider, ease of use, updating information, portability and effectiveness)






Conclusion:


  •       Explain how digital technology has allowed for a wider audience reach
